In predominantly black/minority residential areas, educational inequality has created a significant gap in learning and growth opportunities, most notably among males.

INCREASED VIOLENT CRIME RATE

Peoria's violent Crime Rate index continues to rise with increased activity on Peoria's south-side of town, fully impacting residents' abilities to thrive in the community. Young black men continue to be the target of these crimes, by choice, by happenstance.

 

ILL-CONCEIVED PERCEPTIONS

Black boys/ boys of color are often stereotyped and leads to serious consequences of discrimination, provocation and even death.
